Decades ago at St. John’s University, a small liberal arts college in Minnesota, Dr. Richard Bohr, my Asian studies professor, inspired me about the Asian Century or the Pacific Century, as he would call it. Dr. Bohr’s lectures on the coming rise of China and Asia’s resurgence—geopolitically, economically, and culturally—in the 21st century really spoke to me. Right then and there in the mid-1990s I decided to pursue an Asia-related career.

Esteemed Asian studies professor, and my hero, Dr. Richard Bohr.

The latest Financial Times article does a compelling job of articulating Asia’s modern day rise, lead by China, and explains Asia’s economic and cultural resurgence as a natural occurrence in world history.
